App Privacy Policy

1. Scope of This Policy

This policy covers the Bareview macOS application. It does not cover the bareview.app marketing website; the website has a separate Website Privacy Notice.

The data controller is Arbiter Technologies Ltd. (UIC 207164164), Prof. Krastyo Mirski Str., Bl. 10, Ent. A, Apt. 8, Sofia 1407, Bulgaria.

2. What We Do Not Collect

The Bareview app does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Specifically:

• No analytics, telemetry, usage metrics, or feature-usage reporting.
• No crash reports sent to us or to any third-party crash-reporting service.
• No accounts, sign-in, identifiers, or device fingerprinting.
• No advertising SDKs, marketing pixels, or tracking libraries.
• No network requests of any kind to Arbiter Technologies Ltd. servers or to third-party services.

The app makes no outbound network connections during normal use.

3. What the App Stores On Your Device

Bareview stores only the data macOS requires to provide a normal application experience. Everything stays on your device.

• Standard app preferences (such as zoom level and window state) handled by macOS.
• A list of recently opened documents, automatically maintained by macOS in the standard "Open Recent" menu. This is managed by the operating system and stays on your device.
• Standard sandbox container storage required by the macOS App Sandbox.

You can clear this data at any time by removing recent documents through macOS or by uninstalling the app.

4. File Handling

Bareview runs inside the macOS App Sandbox with read-only access to files you explicitly open (entitlement com.apple.security.files.user-selected.read-only). It can read only the files you choose, and it cannot modify, write, or delete files.

File contents are rendered locally and are not transmitted, uploaded, or shared with us or with any third party.

The app is also shipped without a network entitlement. As a result, remote images, scripts, stylesheets, or other URLs referenced inside a Markdown file are not fetched by Bareview itself. Following a link in a rendered document opens it through your default browser, which is a separate application; any network connections from that point are handled by your browser, not by Bareview.

5. Third-Party Services

The app does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash-reporting services. The only platform services it relies on are standard macOS system services provided by Apple as part of the operating system.

6. Purchases

Bareview is distributed free of charge as a direct download from bareview.app. There is no purchase, subscription, billing, or payment processor associated with the app.

7. Children's Privacy

Bareview is not directed at children under 13, and the app does not collect any personal information from any user.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this App Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of Bareview after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

9. Your Rights Under EU Law

Arbiter Technologies Ltd. is the data controller for the Bareview app. Because the app does not collect or transmit personal data, there is no personal data in our possession to access, correct, export, or delete. Any data the app stores resides on your device and remains under your control; you can remove it by uninstalling the app.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP) or with the supervisory authority in your country of residence. For questions, contact support@arbt.tech.
